About The Event
The very successful International Conference series "Speckle" started in 2000 in Lausanne, Switzerland (Interferometry in Speckle light 2000), then it was held in Trondhein, Norway in 2003 (Speckle Metrology 2003) and, finally, in 2006 it was organized in Nîmes, France (Speckles, from Grain to Flowers 2006). In 2010 the Speckle conference leaves Europe and goes to South America, in Florianópolis, located in a lovely island in south of Brazil.
Speckle is a continuous growing research field in optics and their associated techniques are currently being developed at numerous laboratories located in different countries. Speckle 2010 will be an opportunity for researchers to present their current work, to get updated with recent progresses, to discuss and exchange experiences and also to make friends.
The optical community of Brazil warmly welcomes participants from all over the world, both beginners and senior researchers, involved in all areas and applications of speckle. We will be discussing the most recent theories, techniques and data analysis approaches, and also the different applications of the speckle effect in experimental mechanics, material science, optical testing, industry, medicine, biology, agriculture, forensic science, etc. Student participation is strongly encouraged, since new generations are needed to keep up with the growth rate.
